This homeowner paid a contractor $16,000.00 for this roof 3-4 months ago. The roof looks like any other roof from the road yet performs differently when it rains.
Every shingle on the roof has been nailed high and with too much pressure. This has already cause wind damage. The shingles are pulling free from the roof. The roof was also installed with a 6 inch exposure. The company who installed the shoddy roof is not a roofer at all. They are a kitchen and bath company who said they had “a guy” on staff who had 30 years experience in installing roofs and was the best roofer in Hampton Roads at the time.
Her new roof installed correctly and factory inspected will be much less than 16k. She is beginning litigation to recoup some or all of the money from the “best roofer in Hampton Roads.”
