Building a New Deck in Hampton
Reconstructing a Backyard Deck Just In Time for BBQ Season
You may not think of the fall and winter seasons as the time to construct an outdoor project. But we think this is the ideal time to get it done so you can spend time enjoying it when the warm weather returns! The Dofflemyer family had The Remodeling Company reconstruct their backyard this past winter, leaving it completed just in time for the spring.
We began by demolishing the less-than-appealing sunken brick patio and cover. The existing rear door, that connected the laundry room to the patio, was removed and replaced with a vinyl window. To the right of the home, the dining room window was removed and a French door was put in its place. This would be the new entrance to a 14 by 17 foot composite deck, complete with hidden fasteners, vinyl railings and decorative lattice. The HVAC unit, that once stood where the deck was built, was relocated to a less conspicuous spot. Because the bricks that had been removed from the window and door areas were reused for the new mason work, there was no mismatching between old and new. To complete the project, the site was graded with topsoil and seeded for grass with plenty of time to turn green for the summer!
